Overview
About the Devkit
The devkit for Augmented Reality (AR) is comprised of two Qualcomm Reference Devices (QRDs) following the host controller (phone) and viewer (glasses) scheme.
- Host controller: Lanai phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Viewer: Foreseer with AR2 Gen 1
Devkit Firmware
The firmware of Foreseer and Lanai is not updated over the air (OTA) but manually via flashing firmware on the devices.
The devkit ships with firmware installed, but may need to be flashed to update in order to enable new features, enhance performance and stability, or fix bugs.
Foreseer and Lanai can only be flashed by specific Qualcomm engineers on Qualcomm PCs. If a device needs to be flashed, it may need to be mailed to a Qualcomm location for one of the Qualcomm staff to flash.
Devkit Software
Snapdragon Spaces
The devkit runs the Snapdragon Spaces Services, also known as the Snapdragon Spaces Runtime or more simply as the runtime.
Apps built for Foreseer and Lanai should be using Snapdragon Spaces SDK for AR version 1.0 or later. This can be downloaded on the developer portal.
Read all the docs on Unity Setup and also Dual Render Fusion to learn about Snapdragon Spaces Development on Foreseer and Lanai.
AI Hub
Foreseer and Lanai can be used to enable AI use cases on top of the Snapdragon Spaces hardware and software stack. The scope of this documentation is for working with Foreseer, Lanai, and Snapdragon Spaces. Please use any of the Qualcomm AI contacts for assistance on AI-related tasks and issues, otherwise please visit the Qualcomm AI Hub. Specifically the models in the mobile category of the AI Hub should be considered when using this devkit. Developers may also develop and run custom models using AI Hub resources.
